When "New Year" Motivation Has Moved On

Updated: Jun 8, 2021

Have you lost that spark and intense drive you had when making your new year resolutions, visions and goals?

Yes? Me too.

No? Good for you (I say with most sincerity and a little sarcasm ;-) ).

I'm admitting I have and I'm actually writing this on January 10th! I am preparing to post this blog sometime in April, where I anticipate a natural decrease in "I can do it"-ness, and I will need the reminder I'm about to send to myself and you...in the future. It's all suddenly feeling Back to Future-ish, but stay with me. I know what I'm doing!

It's just a reminder that now is a good time to:

  • keep going

  • start

  • start again

  • try

  • continue

  • do

  • be

  • remember your why

  • refocus on the how

  • reset that intention

..... and keep moving.

We're never really stuck. Read that again. Energy is always in motion. it is more likely that we keep repeating patterns and it makes us feel stuck.

Choose a step even in a slightly different direction and VOILA! Unstuck and back on track, Or at least off on a new track that has more possibilities for us!

So I came across this great article at the beginning of this year (uh, just a few days ago actually), and I love the simple suggestions it offers to feel good about the life you're living and the person you are. I especially appreciate the suggestion about relaxing...

When you choose to relax, make sure you mentally and emotionally commit to it. Don’t half-ass it.

To be honest, I failed and got immediately discouraged at #1 (read one book a month), but I kept reading and found some things for me. Things that were encouraging, felt joyful and inspiring. I encourage you to do the same.

Don't stop if something doesn't jive right away. And of course I'm not talking about just reading this article now. It's all about life application.

Keep searching and showing up for that thing that rings true to you. You'll find it. And you'll be so glad you did.

Welcome back. Move along.
